Inspiration for Spartina 449 products began with a seaside cottage on Daufuskie Island, South Carolina. Rich in natural beauty and steeped in history, it is there that lives slow down. The windows of the home studio are framed by the towering branches of ancient live oaks and look out upon the calm waters of the Calibogue Sound. Playful dolphins, majestic shrimp boats, and soaring sailboats pass by daily on their mysterious maritime journeys. Spartina, the inspiration for the name, is the native marsh grass that graces the shores and protects the pristine beaches.
A portion of the proceeds go directly to the Daufuskie Island Historical Foundation, a non-profit organization created to preserve and protect the island’s invaluable historical and cultural heritage.
